Digital Filters
Aim of the Experiment :
The goal of this experiment is to implement discrete-time (digital) filtering techniques in real-time hardware. In this experiment you will come across the special features of DSP chips like circular buffers of TMS320C6701 which make the DSP chips suitable for signal processing. You will implementing the digital filters in two different methods
Using Circular Buffers in C program (a C program)
Using Circular Buffers of TMS320C6701 Hardware -- both C and assembly programs
Equipment to be checked out :
Two BNC - stereo pin (DSP) cables
All the above equipment can be checked out from the checkout in the second floor. The above list of equipment is the equipment required per work station.
Deviations from the laboratory manual :
Your lab report should clearly contain the advantages and disadvantages of using the three different methods.
Explain the effect of increasing the amplitude of input sine wave or having a gain factor in the filter (why does the output waveform distort ? ).
Try to draw both the theoretical and measured amplitude response on the same graph and explain any deviation.
