Hamood Rehman finished his Ph.D. degree in Fall 2010 under the supervision of Prof. Brian L. Evans at The University of Texas at Austin. His dissertation was entitled Artifact Assessment and Generation of Video Halftones.
He received his MSEE degree in Fall 2006 and his BSEE degree in Spring 2000 from The University of Texas at Austin. From 2000 to 2004, he worked full-time for the first two years for a variety of companies (Goldman-Sachs, Amtex Systems, and GFInet), and then taught undergraduate ECE courses in his home country for two years. He enrolled in graduate ECE studies at UT Austin in spring 2005. In summer 2007, he was an intern at Freescale Semiconductor in Austin, Texas. In summer 2008 and fall 2008, he was an intern at Qualcomm MEMS Technologies in San Jose, California. Since January 2011, he has been with Avvasi in Waterloo, Canada.
His PhD research was in image halftoning, video halftoning, and human visual system modeling.
